I was rereading through some of my blog posts, and I came across the one that was like, “BRB sewing LOL.”
And I referenced this image:
And this material:
But, I was kind of a jerk and never showed the dress.
BUT HERE IT IS, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO LIKE THINGS LIKE SEWING AND DRESSES:
It’s a mis-match of three patterns from different eras. I wanted a nice, full skirt for dancing (dancing this weekend, everyone!! In Ann Arbor!), so that was a priority. The material is a light and float-y cotton (blend?), so I added a draped neckline, too.

And, in the back, I added a little criss-cross applesauce.

Ta da!! And that’s that.
And we should all applaud Lauren, because she was the one who believed in me when it looked near-impossible.
Very nice dress. the shoes go with it, too.
I try, I try. Merci. š
Dang girl that looks like it came fresh from Modcloth but you made it! So cute!
From one seamstress to another: muchas gracias. š
I love it. You’re seriously skilled…. are you just randomly in an abandoned old school parking lot for this photo shoot or what?!?!?
Actually…yes!! This is an abandoned old school parking lot. You hit the nail 100% on the head. My house is down the street and I thought, “Eh…why not?” Thanks for stopping by.
I LOVE that dress. It makes me think of the classic (awesome) 1950’s look. I LOVE anything 1950’s!! I’m an old soul I think. š <3 Erica Dawn
Thank you!! I LOVE the 1950’s styles, too. So, so much.
Danielle that dress is amazing. I have been slowly trying to teach myself to sew…and by slowly, I have made four crayon holders in the two years I have owned my sewing machine, haha. Did you learn from your mother or teach yourself or take classes?
