It’s been a few days, hasn’t it? I ride on summertime mercy of too much sunshine and too many beautiful gatherings and the Queen Anne’s lace EVERYWHERE this year. Seriously, everywhere. And, by the way, I’m loving it.
Can I just ease back into this blog thing? May I write a simple and fluffy post? Oh, I think I just might do that.
I’ll do the images-and-words thing which is, admittedly, a little light but, hey, it’s summer and maybe you just want some light reading now, hmmm?
First of all, let’s talk the goodness and beauty which is: fresh summer produce. Don’t get me wrong, root vegetables, I love you, too, but that winter was long and just seeing fresh berries and thinking about vine-fresh tomatoes…yum.
Let’s talk about how one year ago, this time, I was returning from the Camino de Santiago. It’s weird to have such a blessed experience and realize that everything is different…but nothing is, too. It’s weird to look at the obscure holy days and be like, “Huh, Our Lady of Mount Carmel…that was the day half the group got lost and stumbled upon an abandoned town that was miraculously filled with people that night only to celebrate an abandoned town’s old feast day” or “Hmmm, Feast of St. Mary Magdalene. Last year at this time I was sitting on a stone bench, waiting for Christine.”
I miss the Camino. A boss at my work unknowingly forwarded me a trailer for a film on the Camino around the anniversary of when I left for Spain. I watched it quietly at my desk. “The Camino is almost an addictive experience,” a man being interviewed said, “because of its simplicity” and my eyes watered up a little because there’s just something about that sacred way.

We hosted the blessed Father Prus and his friend, Father Ozzie, for dinner last week. It was, as expected, stunningly good to be with him.
On Saturday I had planned a pilgrimage to Ste Anne’s–the second oldest parish in the entire United States! God took care of me, which is good. There were a few times of, “GOD, NO, I’M SINKING!” but, those were remedied sooo…hallelujah?

Did you know my sister has been doing wedding-things for her best friend’s wedding? Yes, she has and yes, she’s standing and yes, she’s looking forward to the big day.
And probably that the big day is over. 🙂
Anyone who has ever planned a wedding knows how that goes!

How good is catching up with friends in the summer? How good are picnics? How good are sundresses and sunglasses?
Answer: so good.

Lastly, if you loved watching me discharge dye those shirts…you can now have a shirt of your own to love and let love.

I didn’t give you permission to use my likeness!
