My camera has been accumulating photos of my mother.
This is mostly because in the winter I’m driven more indoors due to snow/cold/ice/my inability to generate body heat and more time indoors = more time for projects!
The list is in:
- My sister and I ordered Triathlon-friendly suits yesterday. After the mere second swimming class of our adult experience. I was like, “Maybe we should try Olympic distance tri?”
And Christine was like, “ABSOLUTLY NOT ARE YOU INSANE??”
So we didn’t even sign up for anything. We just bought the suits. ‘merica.
Summer ’14, we’re eying you. Maybe a sprint-distance tri. (We ruled out half-sprint. Because we have low standards but not quite that low) (Example of our low standards: ‘
“We don’t need to place.”
“Oh, definitely! In fact, we probably won’t pace.”
“Almost definitely. But! We’ll finish.”
“Hopefully not a half hour after everyone else.”
“Well, we can finish together. So then we’re not a half-hour behind EVERYONE else.”)
- Snowball is Saturday. Usually at this stage in the game I’m like, “Three days away. I should buy material for the dress I’m dreaming about.” BUT this year I was better. Material=bought, cut, and mostly-sewn. I just have to put in sleeves still. And a hem. And draft a collar pattern. And install said-pattern.
You may roll your eyes, but don’t roll them too far is what I’m saying. I’ll harness your positive vibes from here.
I live on da edge.
- I’m not sure if this is from living on the edge and taking on new exercise forms (cough, swimming) or from making silly winter-time decisions (cough, walking into sub-zero temps with wet hair post-swimming) but my shoulders be sore. Either trying out that backstroke or an immune system flirting with a cold is to blame and either way I’m fighting hard with vitamins and hot tea. Oh boy.
- I’m working on a Lenten Retreat for the Ladies and
I’m not going to come out and say it’s awesome, butit’s going to be great. Be excited. I’m working on a team that’s comprised of extroverts and introverts and different spiritual gifts and appreciation and love for the other types so hopefully it’s a balanced, beautiful experience for everyone involved.
Without further ado, here’re some mom-pics for ya:
(Do you like how these are all other-centric?)
And, that’s that. 🙂
And, if you’ll excuse me, I have some sleeves to put in.
