SEASHELL NELL

This is my Camino. Welcome.

Things I lost (and miss) in 2014

A list of things I lost in 2014. For no great reason, besides I felt like making you share in my sorrow.

The earrings. One of their final appearances in the wild.

  1. One of my peacock-feather earrings. I think it snagged on a scarf, was pulled out of my ear, and flew away. Or something like that.
The thing is, I could just make another one, since I made this set to begin with. Only, I haven’t. So, the other part of the set is at my work.
  2. A peach-colored mitten, given to me by a coworker whose mom knit it. Well, she knit a pair of mittens, actually. And I lost one of them while running into my office one day. Anyone ever will tell you that, when it comes to staying warm, mittens > gloves. So, yeah, my hands are cold(er) now. And it’s extra sad because someone made them, so I feel bad about throwing the other one away, so really it’s just at the bottom of a drawer at my desk at work, too.

Geez, I never realized my office was essentially the Island of Misfit Toys, but substitute “Missing things” for “Misfit Toys.”

  3. La la la WE'RE LOST.

  4. My fuzzy, furry vest. I loved it because it was crazy levels of warm, so I especially miss it on these cold days. The last day I had it was the day I wore it to a Lions/ Saints game. At least…as far as I can remember.
Maybe that one guy behind me STOLE IT. Maybe not, though. Probably not.

  5. My water bottle from Waterbox. I really liked it, because I’m easily dehydrated and it was cute and the design on it was a tree full of candy, which doesn’t make sense, but it was really artsy and cute.
Note ze arrow. Also. I stole this photo from the internets. Happy birfday, CM.

I know where I lost it, too. It was the day I rode a century (100 miles. SO. MANY. OF THE MILES) on the bike tour I rode this summer. The boys were in charge of loading our tent, and I think there was a rouge bag that wasn’t helpful. No! Wait! It was a leaky tent. There was a leaky tent and the boys decided to throw the tent away, and my water bottle was in the tent, so it was thrown away, too.
    Blast.

Anyway. The end. Those were the things I lost this year which I am currently missing the most.

Cue someone saying, “What about your sanity?” and (1) that’s not very kind, is it? and (2) dewd. That occurred way prior to ’14.

Love,
Nell.
P.S. Super-cool water bottle candy-tree design. I thought you might like to see it. Just for fun.
