SEASHELL NELL

This is my Camino. Welcome.

Current status: aware of my mosquito bites

So I spent time with this gorgeous face on Sunday.

Diana580

Together we hiked a mini-Camino.

We were banished from the real group (more on that later, alligator).

See the lilac picture? It represents a larger theme, you see.

Today, in my office I mainly focus on those lilacs…and the shining water. And they were beautiful! And the grass was so green and the sun was so bright!

But: we should be honest. That water housed thousands of mosquitoes. Ahhhhh, pilgrimage.

Diana and I swatted mosquitoes, talked about our lives, prayed and maybe got a little misplaced…but not very.

And when I griped about our banishment-from-the-group, Diana said of my group-leading-skillz, “You used to be like that.”

Which made me think about the grace of the Camino.

Which made me think that, really, I preferred the slightly-lost route of sun and meandering roads and friendly pace and small towns. Eating oranges with Diana and spotting deer carcasses and talking about boys? Pretty dang priceless.

For, as always, God was very good to us.

Diana rocks. (Bob, too…but I have no pictures of him).

Also. Here is a picture of Paul being serenaded at a surprise birthday party we attended on Sunday. You're welcome. He is being serenaded.
