Well, it was a lovely holiday weekend, wasn’t it?
And I don’t have a lot of time to catch us up because there’s a little guinea pig making happy noises in the crook of my elbow, and that love is distracting me because: cuddles. But, I don’t want to neglect you, either. So while the pig burrows into my armpit, here we go.
Friday was my first DCFC game–the local minor league soccer team. Great fun, rowdy fan-base. For real. That smoke? Smoke bombs. Cheers and a fight on the field and all that jazz. 🙂
Oh, and I went to vegetarian-noms with Julia beforehand so we were a leeeeeeeeeetle late to the game. But: no apologies! Friday night!
Saturday we drove out-of-state for the wedding for old family-friends from homeschoolin’ days. Those legos? The cake-topper.
Here Christine takes pictures with the oldest of family-friends. <3 From waaayyyyy back.
I don't believe anyone thought about weddings and all that adult-life back when these kiddos were being taught the ups and downs of finger painting…but, time just flew and here we were. And here were these boys, helping out with a wedding for their old friend.
My mom was a bridesmaid.
Just kidding!
She just grabbed the flowers from the table.
Speaking of tables–at every table were a pile of books, a few flowers (some made from paper) and the most beautiful calligraphy of favorite book-quotes of the bride. Truly lovely and lovely.
The weather was perfect, too, and I fell in love with summer all over again and again and then finally again. And I rode my bike out to a friend’s once we arrived home on Monday, Memorial Day, and I painted nails with the little girls and played volleyball with the big kids (will I be cursed with poor athletics forever?? IT LOOKS LIKE I MAY BE) and it was just summer and perfect.
Oh, and my youngest cousin gave me the baddest patriotic pedicure.
Try hard not to be too jealous.
I know it’s hard, but try. 🙂
