This is my Camino. Welcome.

Nell goes to a BABY SHOWER

Hi.

Where have I been???

Mostly: crazy. 🙂 Count-down to Spain: 8 days. Woot.

Anyway, I had a baby shower last weekend.

Now, baby showers are finicky business. I like to bring useful, cute things…but it’s hard to know what to bring. Here’s what I did for this one: hats, baby hats. That and I bought the book “Caps for Sale.” The couple having the baby is creative, artistic, and clever…so I thought it would be right up their alley.

Start: material. I went to a legit material store, but all of the materials were in grown-up shades. So! Next-best thing--shirts. :) I picked out the softest in the shades I liked best. And that brown fur on the bottom is a fuzzy throw.

First hat! Pilot-hat-like. Since the gender isn't announced, I went with gender-friendly stars. <3

Favorite part of the green one: this monogramed bit on the back. The parents aren't announcing the name, either (but they did joke it would be named "Catfish" if a boy and "Katfishe" if a girl...just for laughs). So, the child has been called "Boo Baby" for this period of time.

Bear hat! Baby bear. This one is a little bigger...for a bigger baby. Awwwww.

All three completed.
All three completed.
And this is how I wrapped them...three in gender-neutral tissue paper and with the classic book.

And wrapped! (With a pinwheel from Kathryn. Sorry I forgot to use the pinwheels at the tea party, Kathryn. Also, I'm listening to "Titanic: The Musical" right now).

So, yeah!

I used the internet for the patterns, and I’ll link below:

And those have lovely tutorials, so don’t be scared!

Also: the gift was well-received. Yay! Welcome, Boo-baby!

I’m not sure which one is my favorite…if you have a favorite, leave a comment. 🙂
