St. Tarcisus – Halo Boys Frameable
$5.00
St. Tarcisus lived in 3rd century Rome. at a time when Christianity was illegal, so Christians practiced in secret. St. Tarcisius’ Christian community was informed that a different community had been captured, was awaiting their death, and wanted Holy Communion before they were killed. St. Tarcisius volunteered to attempt the undercover mission of delivering the Eucharist–he was a boy, so he would be less easily noticed. On his way to the prison, some boys asked him to come play with them, but he refused. They pressed him, but he tried to continue on his mission and keep the Eucharist hidden. The ruckus attracted a group of men, who began hassling and abusing St. Tarcisius with clubs and stones. Eventually, the crowd killed St. Tarcisius. In examining him, they could not find the Blessed Sacrament anywhere on his person. St. Tarcisius was buried and venerated by Christians in his community. He is the patron of altar servers and first communicants.
