Xu Guangqi – Halo Boys Frameable
$5.00
Xu Guangqi (1562-1633) was a Chinese agronomist, astronomer, mathematician, politiain, and writer during the Ming dynasty. As a young child in school, he was frustrated to hear his classmates’ desire to use their education for wealth; Guangqi instructed them to seek education to bring truth and order to their people.
In 1596 he met an Italian Jesuit who needed assistance translating Western documents into Chinese. Guangqi became his translator, and in the process of studying the religious documents, Guangqi converted to Catholicism. Guangqi was an important leader in his community, his active mind was busy writing and experimenting with military techniques, mathematics, astronomy (he correctly predicted a solar eclipse!), farming methods, and more. His descendants continued to uphold his faithful legacy.
-The text reads: “Xu Guangqi pray that I may be mindful”
-The hefty coverstock paper is 5″x7″, artwork is a smaller piece
– Print comes with a description of her life history on the back
– The print is sold unframed, but, I made the paper a size that is super easy to find in most stores. I figured I’d save you the $ on shipping.
– Print will come in a plastic sleeve, with some protective cardboard, in a bubble mailer.
The “Halo Girls” set is my artistic celebration of the wonder and diversity of God’s call…to every one of us. <3
