St. Louis IX – Halo Boys Frameable

St. Louis IX of France was born in 1214, he was crowned King of France at age 12. As a king, he cared deeply for his people. He created hospitals and homes for the needy (one housed 300 blind men). He was a patron of arts and the faith–building chapels and commissioning beautiful religious art. He fed beggars from his table, and personally cared for people suffering from leperousy. He loved his wife, and instructed his son in holiness and faith. St. Louis IX prayed fervently, and was said to never speak ill of others. His reputation for justice was so great, that he was often invited to settle disputes in neighboring kingdoms. St. Louis IX also made some sad decisions, though. He ordered the sacred texts of Judaism in France to be burned. He partook in two unsuccessful crusades. Luckily for all of us, sainthood is for the imperfect, those striving their hardest. St. Louis IX’s canonization can serve as inspiration for all imperfect Christians living today, too.
